Dr. General Marshall Endowed Scholarship with Huston-Tillotson

Dr. General Garwood Marshall was a long-time volunteer, supporter, and friend to Ambassadors of Community Health along with his wife of nearly 63 years, Lavon Marshall. In addition, his leadership extended beyond our organization to the entire Austin community, as a Mathematics professor at Huston-Tillotson University, Founder of the Austin Pre-freshman Engineering Program (AusPREP), and advocate for numerous healthcare, racial equality, and youth development initiatives. He is remembered and missed for his life-long commitment of service.

When Dr. Marshall passed in 2020, our organization established an Endowment Fund in his name with Huston-Tillotson to award an annual scholarship to an upper level Pre-Health student. This scholarship honors his legacy of philanthropy, healthcare advocacy, and racial equity. Please consider honoring Dr. Marshall’s legacy by donating to his fund (below)
